The Lance Armstrong Foundation is uniting people across the country to make cancer a national priority.

The LIVESTRONG Army Brazoria County  hosted  the 2nd Annual Cancer Run and Motorcycle Rally on May 16th,
2009.  The event
was co-sponsored by Goe Harley Davidson, Angleton, Texas.  Bikers departed  Goe Harley
Davidson
at 11:30 am and were escorted through Brazoria County by the Brazoria County Sheriff's Department,
West Columbia Police and First Responders from Angleton, Sweeny, and West Columbia.  After a 50 mile ride the
bikes rolled into the West of the Brazos, Damon, Texas for a full day of live music, BBQ cook offs, live auctions and
more.

This ride  br
ought  over a  hundred motorcyclists together to celebrate the survival of our family members, loved
ones, co-workers and friends who are battling cancer and to honor the memories of those we've  lost to this ruthless
disease. Our fight has just begun and we know the fight will never end. We to  r
ode  with the same ruthlessness and
flew our yellow colors high.
The  thunderous sound of our bikes on the streets  clearly showed  we're  riding  united
echoing our beliefs that
cancer sucks and that in unity there is strength.  We're rode to let our candidates and
lawmakers know it's time they  support laws which will make cancer a national priority.  We  let them know we vote
with cancer issues and mind  and we'll  hold them accountable! Our demands are simple:   We want cleaner air
standards. We want the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas to be fully funded, and we expect
everyone initially diagnosed with cancer to receive the medical care they deserve.
In short: We don't want a lot.
We just want our elected representatives to make cancer prevention, treatment and research their top priority.

Join us on your street bike or your cruiser
next year on May 15th.  It doesn't matter what you ride  All that matters is
what's in your heart. All what matters is you ride with us in unity and are willing to take the bold stand against cancer!
In unity there is strength and together, we can  make cancer a national priority beginning here within our own
backyards of Brazoria County.
